Vibrason is another great band out of the Bay Area very reminiscent of some of the Cal Tjader bands. Highly recommended $10 Cover Charge.

Bottom Of The Hill 1233 17th St, San Francisco 9:00 PM Showtime. Headlining tonight is the LA based alternative pop soulful songstress DYLLAN. I really like her song title Walk Sideways, Also on the bill are a dark pop rock band from Seattle GRGRY and from LA elctro punk rockers Ever So Android. Highly recommended!!!!! $10 Cover Charge…

The allstar performers include Ali Paris and Briana Di Mara, Eric & Suzy Thompson, Andrew Carriere and the Zydeco Allstars, David Wagner, Gopal Slavonic and Lars In Charge. Bay City Blues featuring Chris Cain is a weekly showcase of world class Blues music and superb instrumental talent. Sitting in tonight with the band is special guest is American electric blues saxophonist singer/songwriter Terry Hanck. Ron Thompson is a legendary rhythm and blues guitarist and master keyboardist whose career began in the rough and tumble world of East San Francisco Bay nightclubs and bars in the early 1970’s. During many years of touring coast to coast with John Lee Hooker, Hooker was quoted as saying, “Ron Thompson, he’s my main man!” Not many living blues musicians can say they have performed with and recorded for legends like Big Mama Thornton, Tina Turner, Bruce Willis, Luther Tucker, Jimmy McCracklin, Pee Wee Crayton, Carla Thomas, Booker T. HowellDevine breaks from the norm, providing rich and complex textures integral to the music rather than simple backing for a soloist. The result is a sound which stands in stark contrast to the typical blues heard in bars these days and would more likely be shaking the floors of a Southern juke joint some 70 years ago.
