Bar Fluxus 18 Harlan Pl, San Francisco 9:00 PM-1:30 AM Showtime. Vibrason.. I saw this band recently. They are another great band out of the Bay Area. Very reminiscent of some of the Cal Tjader bands. Highly recommended.. $10 Cover Charge.
Le Colonial 20 Cosmo Pl, San Francisco 7:00 PM-10:00 PM Showtime. Le Hot Jazz.. The spirit of Django is alive and well in San Francisco. This is a great ensemble. Highly recommended!! N/C
Local Edition 691 Market St, San Francisco 8:00 PM-Midnight Showtime…Cosmo Alleycats is one of my favorite Bay Are jazz ensembles. The Alleycats are so good and so much fun and one of the better jazz bands in the Bay Area. Highly recommended. N/C
Swedish American Hall 2174 Market St, San Francisco 7:00 PM Showtime.. Every so often a new singer emerges who’s able to assimilate multiple musical touchstones and still come off sounding remarkably fresh and unburdened by the past. Kandace Springs is one of those artists. She is a contemporary singer/songwriter with her rootds firmly planted in jazz, soul and pop. Her new album Indigo is really wonderful. I am really looking forward to seeinfg her. Highly recommended!!! $25 Cover Charge
Bottom Of The Hill 1233 17th St, San Francisco 9:00 PM Showtime.. Three really fun bands with New Jersey’s post hard rock band Palisades headlining the show. Post hard rock metalcore Day Seeker and heavy rockers Savage Hands round out a great night of music.. Highly recommended!!! $15 Cover Charge..

Biscuits and Blues 401 Mason St, San Francisco 7:30 PM & 9:30 PM Showtimes.. Howell Devine is my absolute favorite Bay Area blues band..This trio has been causing quite a stir in Northern California clubs. Joshua Howell sings in resonant tenor tones that bring to mind those of Slim Harpo, and he alternates between guitar and harmonica. Drummer Pete Devine, whose many credits include work with Lavay Smith and Maria Muldaur, creates unique rhythmic flavors by augmenting his trap set with a washboard strapped to his chest and a temple block resting atop his bass drums. Completing the personnel on the band’s debut CD is slapping upright bassist Sam Rocha. Highhly recommended!!!! $20 cover Charge..
Bottom Of The Hill 1233 17th St, San Francisco 8:30 PM Showtime.. Another fun night of music with the great Japanese female rock and roll band Shonen Knife headlining the night.. Two really fun pop punk bands Kepi Ghoulie & a personnel favorite Electric Machine Gun Tits round out the night. DJ Sid Presley starts off the evenings festivities.. People in Plazas, a free noontime musical concert series in San Francisco public spaces, ends with today with The Vivants a really wonderful bluegrass/western swing ensemble performs at 555 California; One of the best swing bands in the Bay area Josh Klipp and The Klipptones will be performing at 101 California.

Scott Amendola Orchestra Di Pasta is a formidable collection of improvisers in Orchestra di Pazzi (which could translate as crazy orchestra), which includes vocalists Aurora Josephson and Pamela Z; guitarists Henry Kaiser, Fred Frith and John Schott; ROVA saxophonists Larry Ochs, Jon Raskin, Bruce Ackley and Steve Adams; vibraphonist Mark Clifford; cellist Crystal Pascucci; violinists Alisa Rose and Christina Stanley; and percussionists William Winant, Robert Lopez and Jordan Glenn. Amnesia Bar 853 Valencia St, San Francisco 8:30 PM-10:30 PM Showtime..The Hot Baked Goods are a band of young jazz musicians playing hot tunes of the 30’s. Most of the band members started as swing dancers, and became so infatuated with the music that they decided to make some themselves. I saw them at the Amnesia and this band really swings. N/C
